Privacy Policy for "Litebooth Photobooth"
Last updated: May 3, 2025
1. Introduction
Thank you for using "Litebooth Photobooth" (hereinafter "the App"). This App has been developed to provide you with a simple and privacy-friendly photobooth solution. We consciously refrain from tracking, advertising, and unnecessary data collection.
The responsible provider of the App is:
Datrax IT Services
Ingo Hangebrauck
Hauptstr. 35
25782 Schalkholz, Germany
Email: info@datrax.de
2. Permissions and Their Use
The App requests only the permissions that are strictly necessary for its technical functionality. Below we explain what each permission is used for:
2.1 Camera (CAMERA)
The App requires access to the camera to provide the photobooth functionality (live preview and photo capture). The camera is only active while you are actively using the App. No covert recordings are made at any time.
2.2 Storage (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
Access to storage is required to:
- Save the photos you take locally on your device in the "LiteBooth" folder.
- Load custom background images for the Welcome Screen from your gallery (if you use this feature).
2.3 Network & Internet (INTERNET)
Although the App works fully offline, the network permission is required for two optional features:
- Nextcloud Upload: If you enter your Nextcloud credentials in the settings, the App will transfer photos directly to your own server.
- Remote Trigger: For the connection between two devices (e.g. a smartphone as a shutter trigger for a tablet) or the connection of an ESP controller, the App uses local network communication (Wi-Fi).
Important: The App does not transmit any analytics data, photos, or metadata to servers operated by the developer (Datrax IT Services) or to any third parties.
3. Data Storage and Nextcloud
Local data: All settings (e.g. countdown duration, colors, text overlays) are stored locally in the protected app preferences (SharedPreferences) on your device.
Nextcloud credentials: If you use the Nextcloud feature, the URL, username, and password are stored exclusively on your local device. The App establishes a direct, encrypted connection (if your server supports HTTPS) to your Nextcloud server. We have no access to these credentials at any time.
4. Local Web Server
When you enable the "External Camera" feature in "Receiver" mode, the App starts a local web server on your device (default port: 8080). This allows other devices on the same Wi-Fi network to trigger the camera shutter. This server is only active while the feature is enabled in the settings and the App is running.
5. Tracking and Advertising
We do not use any analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics) and no advertising networks in this App. You use the App completely anonymously.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Since we do not store any personal data on our servers, all data (photos, settings) remains exclusively on your device or your private Nextcloud instance.
Uninstalling the App will delete all locally stored settings. Photos saved to your device storage remain in the "LiteBooth" folder until you delete them manually.
7. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected or transmitted to our servers, there is no risk of inadvertent data collection from minors.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
9. Your Rights & Contact
Because we do not store any personal data on our servers, all data (photos, settings) is entirely in your hands — on your device or your private Nextcloud. You may exercise your rights under applicable data protection law (including GDPR) at any time by contacting us.
